New Title: 1957 Plymouth Fury - Auto World

Introducing the Fury, a sub-series of the Plymouth Belvedere that was available from 1956 to 1958. Sold exclusively in Sand Dune White as a two-door hardtop with gold anodized aluminum trim for both 1956 and 1957, the 1957 models were restyled to feature a longer and wider design, large vertical tailfins, and a new torsion bar front suspension which replaced the previous coil springs. The restyled 1957 front grille gives the appearance of four headlights from a distance, but the two inner lights are actually parking lights. It wasn't until 1958 that the Fury was equipped with quad headlights. Under the hood, a new powerplant was introduced for the 1957 models - the V-800 318ci engine, complete with dual 4bbl carbs, producing 290 hp. This engine was unique to Plymouth for both 1957 and 1958, and other Chrysler vehicles began using it in 1959. It was the highest output version of the Chrysler “A” engine.
